Overpowering Sunlight

I have wanted to play around with the concept of ovepowering sunlight with my lights but just haven't gotten around to it until now - and even then had to work with a disagreeable model! ;-)

Anyway, this is what I came up with . . .

Hi I'm looking at buying a new flash head and I was wandering what type of flash you used for this shot (great light) I'm looking at a 750 watts flash head right now but not sure if it will give me enough power

david - I know very little about studio lights. All my lights are battery powered stobes. I used two in this shot; both were cheapy Vivitar 285HV's fired remotely via Pocket Wizards.

Also - as an afterthought, this is only possible because I was able to synch at 1/1000 to keep the sky from blowing out.

Yes the sync speed is my problem i can only sync at 1/250. In the mean time i have puchased the flash heads and had a outdoor shoot. Although i wasn't able to overpower the sunlight as i expected i was able to get some nice results.

Are you a Nikon user?

Thanks for the reply!
